Qualifications
In addition to completing indexing course work from the USDA Graduate School, Maureen has
a MS in Scientific and Technical Communication and years of experience as a freelance
technical writer. She is able to analyze the audience(s) for a publication with a focus on using
index headings and cross references that will meet their information needs.
In addition, Maureen has a BS in Microbiology and a firm grasp on the technical terminology in
the biological and health sciences. She has worked in a variety of laboratory settings and
understands how to bridge the gap between lay and professional audiences.
Maureen is a member of the American Society for Indexing (ASI) and a member of the Science
and Medical SIG for ASI.
